The SIX SIDED MEN will be playing their unique blend of Pop, Rock-a-billy, Country and Rock at The Bootlegger Cardiff!

Formed by songwriter Ayres, the Six Sided Men have become something of a Cardiff cult since 1993 when they released their debut cassette-only album ‘Riverside Moon’ combining beguiling elements of country, pop, rockabilly and rock. Riverside Moon was followed up with another cassette-only release in 1995 called ‘Plugged’ with recordings live upstairs at Clwb Ifor Bach. Following a name change to The Soda Men- they released (on CD!) ‘Moon’ in 2006 and ‘Musicassette’ in 2008. A Welsh language EP ‘Tyllau yn y Cymylau’ (Holes in the Clouds) was released on Rasp Records in 2009.

Back to their original name and the line up is Ayres on acoustic guitar & vocals, Mike Slee on electric guitar, Andrew ‘Tomo’ Thomas on bass, Emily Grainger on fiddle and Kirby Stevens on drums. Of course they’re probably too modest to mention it but this line-up boasts a rich heritage of Cardiff music history as it includes previous members of such seminal Diff bands as Bomb & Dagger, The Third Uncles, The Pier, Blue Horses and The Dostoyevskis.

Musically, the band still forge elements of country and pop with melodic rock to create a feelgood set. Plenty of light and shade and with a spattering of surprising cover versions is performed in their inimitable style.
