ZOOPHONIUM
This is one killer-diller Electro Swing dance band… A live vintage remix sound with stomping Swing beats, bouncing bass and Charleston breaks, colliding with live swinging licks, riffs and vocals, and a sonic collage of archive samples, vintage loops, and futuristic bleeps. This compact and versatile trio bring the energy and essence of real Swing to the dance-floor, serving up a dashing dazzling live vintage remix show – a live Electro Swing band remixing and re-imagining the sounds of the 20s, 30s and 40s into a retro-futurist imaginarium of hot-swingin’ musical delights. Zoophonium is the creation of three of the founding members of live Electro Swing band Swing Zazou (“the originators of live Electro Swing in the UK”), with DJ Don Dapper at the controls flanked by live Swing guitar and horn.
Zoophonium have received rave reviews wherever they have performed, with gigs to date including: The Shard Time Out New Year’s Eve Party, Larmer Tree Festival (Garden Stage), Hay Winter Festival, Elderflower Fields Festival, Brighton Festival (Hanging Gardens of Brighton and The Warren), Bimble Bandada Festival, Buddhafield Festival, London Floridita, Christies London, Zu New Year’s Eve, Electro Swing Club London, White Mink Brighton, Electro Swing Club Brixton, Electro Swing Club Southend
and Antique Beats at Mirth, Marvel and Maud.

ZOOT ZAZOU
Vintage Hot Swing quintet Zoot Zazou play lively foot-stompin’ good time Swing. Inspired by the sound of the underground Parisian Swing clubsof the defiant Zazous, and the secret bootleg Blind Tigers of Prohibition era America, Zoot Zazou conjure the decadent and rebellious atmosphere of the infamous 1930s dancehalls. Zoot Zazou sing some of the very best songs of the 30s – vintage Swing classics from the likes of Cab Calloway, Stuff Smith, Slim Gaillard and Louis Armstrong. Instrumentally the band unleashes blistering trumpet and clarinet – moving between tight rhythmic licks, wild solo improvisation, evocative vintage harmonies, and spontaneous interweaving New Orleans style riffs – backed by the driving hot Swingin’ rhythm of Gypsy Swing guitar, double-bass and drums. Zoot Zazou is great music to dance to, transporting you to the 1930s and the Golden age of Swing – the perfect Speakeasy party band!
