The Jesse Molins Quartet is back at The Bootlegger Jazz Club in Exeter this Thursday.
Jesse brings with him a supremely talented band, playing some of their favourite tunes, sure to get you in the mood to start your weekend a little early!

Jesse Molins is much in demand as a specialist jazz guitarist and teacher, known for creating original, melodic lines in the moment and using them to construct the most artful solo arcs. Jesse studied guitar from age 11 and took it on to higher education and music college in London. He is a long time member of Mike Westbrook’s Uncommon orchestra which has toured the UK and Europe and had several runs at Ronnie Scott’s, as well as co-leading a newly formed quartet with fellow guitarist Neil Burns.

Having arrived in Devon only a few years ago, Tom Ball has become established as the pianist for many of the South West’s best band leaders including Annika Skoogh, Louise Parker and Neil Maya. He has played several times at the Bootlegger bar this year and likes to play to the crowd!
With the energetic Marcus Vergette at the double bass and the phlegmatic Preston Prince it will be a swinging and eventful evening.

Jesse started playing the guitar aged 11. His stepfather Jon Stokes, Jazz guitarist and trumpet player, was a formative influence. They spent many hours jamming and learning Jazz tunes, the introduction to the basic principles of Jazz at a young age was invaluable. The rhythm section for the Jesse Molins Trio/Quartet consists of Jesse, Al Swainger and Coach York who both work as sidemen in the Craig Milverton Trio.
“A new incarnation of Westbrook’s powerful reeds and brass front lines, with Jesse’s muscular fretting playing the Tenor foil to Roz’s alto and soprano”
